An evening of brilliant design

We were a lucky bunch to get to attend the 2010 Crystal Awards, the annual awards gala of ASID Colorado. The evening’s highlights include: a gorgeous setting (the ballroom of the historic Sherman St. Events Center in downtown Denver); a room full of brilliantly talented designers; a look at the best projects in the state; and a keynote address on the concept of “Rough Luxe.” (“Rough Luxe” is a design idea that marries the stark surfaces of modern design with the “perfectly imperfect” elements of the past for an eclectic aesthetic that finds itself at home in today’s living spaces.) Catch a sneak peek of some of the winning projects (plus a few party photos) here, and see all of the winners in our June/July issue.

Beautiful! Thanks for the inspiration! I am a graduate of RMCAD, and former secretary of Student ASID…and am now living the dream in Durango. Which is wonderful, BUT we don’t have a whole lot of events and opportunities to share and network with other designers out here in the remote reaches of the Four Corners. It was great to see some familiar faces and thier beautiful work-Thank You! B.T.W. Love the term “Rough Luxe”- is that a slightly more polished version of “Mountaindustrial”?
