Magazines always looking ahead, working to share with readers what’s on the horizon. We’re no exception; we want our readers to know the latest trends in the world of architecture and interior design, as well as all the fabulous happenings in Colorado. So at the end of June our staff ran off to Vail to make plans for the 32nd year of Colorado Homes & Lifestyles magazine.

It was nice to get away from the office and the day-to-day duties of creating a magazine. We stayed at the beautiful Sebastian Hotel, a Timbers Resorts Hotel and Residence Club in the heart of Vail Village. We set up shop in one of the hotel’s private dining rooms and got down to business. We discussed what we felt was working, what we could do better, what new topics and themes we wanted to add in 2012. The sessions were productive and fun.
But we were in Vail, so we had to play a little, too. And relax. So we took a break and went to the Vail Cascade Resort’s Aria Spa & Club for some much-needed downtime. Some of us got massages, others facials or pedicures; a few ambitious members of our staff even worked out. It was a delightful afternoon.

Senior Editor Caroline Eberly, Account Director Kenn Seaman, Sales & Marketing Coordinator Megan Small and Advertising Art Director Emily Kaiser—all relaxed and happy after an afternoon at the Aria Spa.
Evening meetings were held over cocktails at the Sebastian’s ultra-cool bar, Frost. (We really did talk business, I promise.) All in all, a great few days bouncing ideas around and enjoying one of the few times our entire staff is at the same place at the same time.
And now, before we make final plans for 2012, we’d love to hear from you! What would you like to see in future issues of CH&L? What do you love and want to see more of? What’s not working for you? We are listening—because when you’re happy, we’re happy.
